After the weekends poor turnout, and the officially scheduled club round, the question must be raised as to how many drivers are required to run an off road race meeting? Although when this was discussed about the winter racing and the on road racing a number was decided upon and it would provide adequate marshalling cover for fun racing. But when points are at stake and people want to win where do you draw the line? Although this has to be addressed, the solution will not be easy. We must consider that any rule put in place must be fair to all and not open to abuse?

I agree, usually a low attendance crops up towards the end of the season and marshalling is an issue for the A final and the deciding rounds can come down to who makes 1 mistake. It was a good idea to have 6 in the A final everytime as we don't have bump-up finals but with low attendance this becomes a real problem for marshalling if only 2 or 3 in the B-final or someone goes home early.

Maybe one solution would be that the finals are split into 2 equal finals however many enter up to say 10 max in a final. If there is an odd number then this odd entrant would go into the A-final. But once someone has committed to running in the B final they should stay to marshall the A-final, this is only fair as the A -Finalists have already marshalled the B-Final and a low number of marshalls for the A-final can really ruin the day's racing.

Ok what does everyone think?

Here's my point of view:

1. 8 drivers or more to lunch round

2. Both finals with the same quantity of drivers. Max diff. 1 car obviously3. No boost/bump-up's if groups are even4. Discipline! People! Marshalling is as important as racing, it is a integral part of that sport, right?

5. If we could start racing 10 o'clock sharp some of our problem wouldn't exist.

One more idea: with no bump-up policy maybe we should race A final first, then B final. Sounds weird but...
